Transfix/compel: A mounted model charges infantry, he is then transfixed. Although unlikely, if he wins the fight will the infantry still be knocked to the ground? I would have thought not as the transfixed model strikes no blows if he wins a combat.
-
By the letter of the law enemy models are still knocked down, although no blows will be struck by the transfixed model.

If Boromir is transfixed can he still use the Horn of Gondor in the Fight Phase?
-
I would reason that Boromir may not sound the Horn of Gondor if he is transfixed. Here is why: Page 41, under Immobilise/Transfix, sentence one: "The victim can do nothing further that turn. In combat, his Fight value counts as 1 and he rolls one dice regardless of how many attacks he normally has." It is therefore clear that Boromir cannot do anything further that turn. The spell entry then explains exactly how Boromir will behave in any ensuing combats, whilst transfixed.

Is it correct that a model shooting through any foot soldier at Khamul riding a fell beast hast to take an 'In the way' test? You cannont aim just at the rider as you must aim for the whole model, as some of the monstrous mount my be obscured infantry?
-
This one is covered by the rules. Please refer to the rulebook for an esplanation of how this works. Please see: Pages 22-25 (The Shoot Phase), Page 49 (particularly under the heading: Cavalry and Shooting) and Page 51 (under the heading Monstrous Mounts).
I would recommend directing your attention to the following:
Page 24, In the Way!, especially the last sentence.
Page 49, Mounted Targets, Sentence One: When shooting at a cavalry model, ther horse is treated as if it were 'in the way'.
Page 51, Monstrous Mounts, Paragraph Four in entirety.

Volley fire I assume the Elven cloak does not have any effect unless it is the targeted model for the spotter. You can hit models you can“t even see with volley fire. Right?
-
Arrows from a volley could hit a model concealed by an Elven Cloak, provided that it was within 6''/14cm of the original (visible) target.

Does sorcerous blast the strength 5 hit knock over the fell beast? The rules state the strength 3 hit on a model hitting the fell beast does not knock it over, but it does not say if the blast hits the fell beast strength if it knocks it over.
-
Page 41, Sorcerous Blast, second sentence reads: "If the power is employed successfully the target is blasted to directly away from the caster and knocked to the ground... So, yes.. just as the rule states, the model (in your example the Fellbeast) would be knocked over. That said, you might have realised that the Fellbeast will flee if the rider dismounts or is knocked off.

Facing a Uruk-hai phalanx consisting of 16 Uruks in a square, I wanted to charge it. My opponent stated, that I could not charge because I would move within 1'' of en enemy model without moving into contact with it.
-
Your opponent is misinterpreting the rules in a big way.
Page 15 of the Main LotR maulual, paragraph three reads: "Once a charger has moved within 1''/2cm of his target he must complete his move into contact against the target model/models he will ignore the control zone of enemies nearby."
Since control zones ar circular, and so are bases in LotR, you can always enter one control zone first, and therefore ignore all the others. The caveat is that you must charge the model whose control zone you entered first.

Do Wild wargs receive any cavalry bonus?
-
No. Refer to Page 48 of the Hardcover Rulebook. Under Characteristics for mounts the first sentence reads: "A cavalry model comprises a rider and his mount..."
Only models which are thusly mounted gain the cavalry bonus unless it specifically states otherwise in their special rules. Wild/White Wargs fight like infantry.

LoME: Bow Limit. It states that a third of the warriors must have bows but not heroes. If I take Legolas from the Fellowship as an ally do I have to take 2 hobbits for the third rule?
-
Heroes and Warriors are different. I.e. a Ranger of Gondor (who is a Warrior has a bow in his wargear) would require two Non-bow armed models in his force to enable it. Legolas is a Hero, and does not. On a side note, Legolas cannot ally with Hobbits (from the Shire list, at any rate of course hecan join up with the four from the Fellowship).

In CoC, if the hero kills the Mūmak, do the models in the howdah count as a kill for the hero? Although it“s caused by the hero killing the Mūmak their deaths are not dealt by the hero itself.

No, gravity gets the honours for killing them.

Do kills count towards victory points when a wound is inflicted or does the model have to become a casualty (removed from the table)?
-
The condition for victory is 'casualties' caused. It doesn“t matter if it“s a Hobbit or a Mūmak; it still only counts as one.

In a multiple combat where a army leader enters a multiple fight and inflicts wounds and also other warriors from his own army inflicts wounds on the same model, does the hero get the victory points?
-
The Hero counts the number of casualties he (or she) has caused. Other models that happen to be hacking at the same model have no bearing on thevictory conditions. If you want the Hero to get the credit, simply roll his dice first to increase the chances.

Am I right to assume that non Harad forces cannot benefit from the inspiring sight of a Mūmak?

Your are right to assume that. The wording for the Mūmak states that it acts as a banner for the Haradrim within 3''/8cm (a very dangerous place to be, in my opinion).

Clash of Piquets: Does a Mūmak count as one hero or two (because of the Mūmak Commander/Chieftain) when setting up half of his force (including up to one hero) at the start of the game? In LoME army lists the Mūmak has only one entry...
-
...(there is no reference to the chieftain) and on that basis would count as one hero only. If you pay for a Mahout Chieftain would this make a difference?

Am I right to assume that the restriction that only models holding/shooting bows count as classed with a bow, only applies to warriors? A number of heroes can be equipped with a bow as well as other weapons and would have dificulty holding/using all..
-
...these at once! It is very easy to make clear at the start of a game which heroes count as equipped with a bow and there should be no misunderstandings.
Specifically, I have a Mounted Rohan Outrider model (classified as hero), whose main ability is archery and whose bow is being carried on his back surely he will count as equipped with a bow?
Answer: This came about from a need to allow Riders of Rohan and the likes to conform to the 1/3 bow limit. Fortunately, LoME states that Heroes aren“t restricted by this, only Warriors. Please just take extra care to inform your opponent what models are, so there is no confusion.

Clash of Piquets: "3-4 the model moves onto the table from any point on the controlling player“s deployment edge..." And "5-6 The Model moves onto the table from any point on the controlling player“s deployment edge.." Which zone is correct?

The 'starting edge' is the two 24'' lengths of board that form the corner in question, giving each player a 4'' deployment zone.

Please see Question Two in the LoME FAQ, which adresses this.
For the purposes of this event, we ask that you use LoME for the army lists, but use the rulebook, or if this doesn“t contain the appropriate info, the most recent supplement published for the appropriate values.

Can I include Aragorn in an Army with Elendil?
-
It is to do with the inclusion of both, Elendil (with Narsil), and Aragorn (with Anduril) ist hte same army. This is possible, using Thranduil“s halls as a base (take Legolas, and ally with the Fellowship, and the army of the High King). Due to the fact that theming is no longer an issue, as we are just allowed to use LoME, the fact that Elendil was dead a good 3000 years before Aragorn was born is irrelevant but hte way they are armed, is not. How can they both be equipped with effectively the same weapon? It is impossibility much like taking two characters that could have the ring (Isildur and Frodo) they both cannot have it.
Aswer:
Please see page 8 of Legions of Middle Earth (LOME). The first sentence of Paragraph two (titled Selecting allies) reads:
"Each army list specifies the other forces it may ally with."
The Army of the High King cannot ally with any force that includes Aragorn.

During the Contest of Champions scenario, what kills are to be assigned the champion?
-
It breaks down into a few things. Contest of Champions is intended to be a fun scenario played in the spirit of high heroism two powerful champions unleashing their fury of the enemy and all that. That said let“s adress the points:
- Mūmaks. Unlike horses/wargs, or monstrous mountsMūmaks do not fight 'with' the help of their rider. They simply run things over. That doesn“t suit or cencept of heroism, or the contest of champions, so we“ve disallowed it.
- Siege engines. It may sound daft, but there is quite an appeal to a veteran siege engineer using his skill to fire bolts/rocks at the enemy. Aside from the fact that it“s highly unlikely to yield many kills against an experienced foe, it“s all in the spirit of fun.
- Siege engines. 2 Taking the leader of your force as a Siege Captain might (possibly) give you an advantage in one scenario, but it“s not going to do you wonders in the other three scenarios at the event.

During the tournament only models that are actually firing a bow count as armed with bows. All models that are carrying a bow on their back do not count as armed with a bow. Please refer to the Limits section on page 6 of "Legions of Middle Earth".
-
The bow limits are correct, but the focus is lacking clarity. this should read "During the tournament only the Riders of Rohan and Haradrim Raider models that are actually firing a bow count as armed with bows. All the riders that are carrying a on their back do not count as being armed with a bow." This does not affect the other models in your army.
